Moving IT Equipment (OIT: Client Services)

There was a time years ago, when it was almost mandatory that we move computer equipment. Laptops and desktops were expensive and sensitive to drops, interruptions in power, and etc.

Today, OIT is generally not involved in moving office equipment since technology is more mainstream, and easier to handle than a decade ago. Whoever is responsible for moving boxes and files should be able to move the telephone and computer. Once everything is unpacked and the computer is placed on the desired location on the desk, OIT techs will be happy to help the customer plug everything back up when there are problems.
